BUGS BUNNY EROSION GID

Instinctoy x Soap Studio continue their officially-licensed Looney Tunes collaboration with the new Bugs Bunny Erosion GID vinyl art toy. The new glow in the dark edition is the second colorway following the previously-released OG edition.

Rather than the classic gray and white, the new version of the Bugs Bunny vs. Instinctoy’s Liquid symbiote figure features an off-white GID plus white design and a bright orange/green carrot. From the photos, Bugs glows in the dark while his carrot does not.

Revealed is the upcoming “EROSION BUGS BUNNY” figure, with this being the first colorway sample from Hong Kong’s @soapstudiohk! This licensed Looney Tunes product sees Bugs Bunny being infected by INSTINCTOY’s EROSION, with a scheduled September release.

A cross-over between INSTINCTOY and BUGS BUNNY became a reality through a collaboration with SOAP STUDIO, a toy maker who works with various licensed characters from Warner Bros. and others.

BUGS BUNNY has been one of my favorite characters for a long time. When working on the design, I tried to put myself into the world Bugs Bunny lives in and I enjoyed the design process very much. The design concept is based on INSTINCTOY’s original character, the liquid erosion monster LIQUID, which infested the carrot. Because carrots are Bugs Bunny’s favorite food, he accidentally ate the infested carrot.

I was very particular about the size. Using the appearance and data of various Bugs Bunnies that have already been released, the completed prototype data was verified over and over by printing it with a 3D printer. Taking into consideration our experiences at exhibitions and working as a toy manufacturer, we concluded that the perfect size that maximizes the charm of Bugs Bunny is approximately 370mm in height. The result is a slender yet solid and voluminous work.

The neck, shoulders, and wrists are movable, so you can enjoy this work with various poses.

I would like to highlight the design of Bugs Bunny’s “whiskers”. The thin and pointed whiskers exhibits Bugs Bunny’s shocked expression of being infected by LIQUID. This is an important part of the design. SOAP STUDIO also helped to realize this specific shape of the whiskers by INSTINCTOY during mass production. By reviewing the structure and re-making the mold, the whiskers are modelled to be about 1mm in width, made of ABS, and was able to be reproduced beautifully by the masterful technical skills of SOAP STUDIO, to bring our imagined design into reality. When touching the whiskers slightly with your fingers, you will see that they are sturdy enough to bounce back to their original position, which is one of my favorite points about this work.

While adding the expression caused by the infestation through LIQUID to the design, I also designed this work in a way so that the cuteness and the typical image of Bugs Bunny retains. I hope both BUGS BUNNY and INSTINCTOY fans will like it.
